Salar de Uyuny, 3700 to 5000m.

What do we have to do ?

Arrived early in the morning by bus, we had to wait day light. At this time we meet some others French (yes again !). We plan to go at 9 AM to one of office to find a guide and a 4WD.

 

 

 

 

And what happend...

10 AM, for around 70$ we are going for 4 days. We are 7 in the 4WD, 2 British citizens, 4 Frenchies, and the guide, Jose. Everyday looks the same, technically. We wake up early, eat some bread, coffee. Then let's go accross the country. Stop a few, pictures pauses. Drive again, then quite early too 16-17PM we stop somewhere to eat and sleep. This is well managed. Everything is ok, a few roots, not really unconfortable. Anyway this is not Club Med.

First Day, we move to the south, nothing special in memory, and no pictures ! We arrived to base camp 1.

Day 2, we really starts the trip. First Salar de Uyuni and its salt sea, hundred km of salt. Despite my new sun glasses (Cebe 1500) I get trouble with my eyes. Ground it really so white, moreover at 3700 higth, sun it not your friend !

On this salt sea, have island of course ! I saw there for first time wood made with cactus, this is really beautifull. Some white wood with lot of hole.

So big Cactus have a big advantage : they like sun but give you shade if you don't like !
